Knett Solutions is a software company in New Delhi. The company is older than its first software product, and the story is worth telling properly: where it started, the work that built it, and what it’s building now. We build it, we run it, we live with it. The story is how that came to be true.
Knett’s founder, Sanjeev Kansal, qualified through the UPSC Engineering Services Examination in 1990. A civil engineer with an MBA from IIM Calcutta, he spent more than two decades in engineering and infrastructure, rising to senior engineering leadership: project planning, procurement, contracts, execution. The unglamorous work that businesses are actually made of.
In December 2007 he founded Knett IT Infrastructure and Solutions Private Limited in New Delhi. The aim was plain: one company where engineering discipline, business judgment, and technology could meet. For years that meant construction, infrastructure, and project management. Real projects, real sites, real contracts.
In 2010, Knett became an authorized India reseller for Compuware, the American software company. It sold and supported Changepoint, the platform companies used to run their projects, their people, and their work. One of its first customers was Pangea3, a Mumbai legal-services firm, which licensed Changepoint through Knett in March 2010. The reseller business ran for about two years.
This was Knett’s first real taste of software. It wasn’t building anything of its own yet, but it was learning the business from the inside, and seeing, one engagement at a time, just how much a company leans on an honest record of its own work.
When the reseller years wound down, Knett carried on with the work it knew best: construction, infrastructure, and the practical business of getting projects done. The company was never in a hurry, and that suited it. Across these years Sanjeev earned a law degree with distinction and went on to doctoral research at Amity University into modern investment frameworks and digital assets.
Careers run on memory, and memory leaks. The project you rescued in March has faded by the time your December review comes around. The tools meant to help were good at producing confident claims from very little real record, which felt backwards. The record should come first, and the documents should simply be its proof. So Aaryash set out to build the tool he couldn’t find.
The right company was already there: the one Sanjeev had founded back in 2007. Starting a brand-new one would have been simple, but building inside this one meant something. So in 2026, Knett turned to building its own software. Its first product, Roleora, is built and run on Microsoft Azure, and Knett was welcomed into Microsoft for Startups the same year.

A civil engineer and management professional who spent over two decades in infrastructure and project management before starting the company in 2007. A lifelong student, he later took a law degree and is now a PhD scholar at Amity University, researching modern investment frameworks and digital assets.
